She’Kab makes it to Norway’s Katapult Accelerator!

She’Kab, co-founded by Hira Batool Rizvi is a web based platform working to address challenges of daily mobility in Pakistan.  Recently She’Kab managed to bag a position in the top 12 startups to join Norway’s Katapult Accelerator being the only startup selected from Pakistan has made us all proud.

According to a 2016 research conducted in Pakistan, more than 50% women who used Public transportation reported cases of harassment. Moreover on average, women spend more than 40% of their monthly salaries to travel to work compared to men who spends only 7% or less.

By leveraging the power of technology, She’Kab aims to solve this problem by connecting riders to drivers, who are either part of the taxi infrastructure or female partner drivers who own cars. The drivers go through rigorous background checks in order to be inducted as partner drivers. Once vetted and registered, they join the driver’s network with their own cars/cabs.

Katapult Accelerator Norway is a tech accelerator providing guidance to new startups every year by inviting startups from all across the globe to join them for a 3 month fast paced, hands on program made to help scale their business. 12 lucky startups were chosen this year on July 31st, 2017 among which stands, tall and high our very own She’Kab.

Startup.pk congratulates She’Kab for making it to Norway’s  Katapult accelerator and wishes her  all the best for her future endeavors. Keep making us proud.
