The Battle Of Decks- Pitching It Right!

In the world where everyone is striving to build the most powerful weapon, we have a breed called Entrepreneurs who make things happen.

You being one, who have just started the journey or have travelled a lot can totally relate to the power of Deck or what we call ‘Slide Deck’.

What is a Slide Deck?

Consider is an Entrepreneur’s Secret Weapon. The stronger it is, the better are the odds of winning your customers and investment rounds. If you are just starting your entrepreneurial journey, make you sure you nail this thing right.

Slide Deck is presentation which summarizes your idea. Ideally has five (05) parts which are further divided as per need

  1. Idea
  2. Problem
  3. Solution
  4. Finances
  5. Milestones

Components

Idea: Should be one line that what exactly is your idea? If you can’t put your idea in simple sentence then you need to work more.

Problem: Here you focus on ‘the problem’ which you are trying to solve. Put stats that how many people have it, how big is your market, segment it and identify your target market.

Solution: State what exactly is your solution? Is it a web portal, mobile app, hardware or a service? Be very precise and make sure you clearly mention what makes you Different from the rest of the competitors out there. You can show product demo as well.

Finances: This is by far the most important slide which explains the financial viability of your idea. It contains your three year projections, time to break even, amount of funding you are looking for etc.

Milestones: You explain what your future goals are, consider adding monthly or yearly breakdown so the investor can see that how strong is your plan.
